Our 7th Wedding Anniversary & Vow Renewal
Time really does fly when you’re having fun…I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since my husband and I got married and nearly 14 years since we started dating. We’ve been through many ups and downs in this rollercoaster of life and 3 beautiful kids later, we’re still going as strong as we ever did before. I always knew that Bryan was my soul mate from the start of our relationship and although we experienced many challenges along the way, there is no one I could imagine being my life partner, the father of my children, the love of my life, my husband…my best friend.
Seven years ago we got married within 1 month after moving to Las Vegas from New Jersey. We had a beautiful garden ceremony and dinner at Caesar’s Palace with fewer than 30 close relatives present. However, we’ve always (well mainly the little girl in me) wanted a big church wedding and reception. We had thought to postpone it until our 10 year anniversary, but suddenly decided to do it now as of 2 months ago. My late maternal grandfather in the Philippines had always wished we got married in church, with God’s blessing. And since he passed away two years ago, I’ve been thinking about doing it sooner. Another incentive was that our actual anniversary, July 14th falls on a Saturday this year. So it seemed that this was perfect timing.
We are extremely blessed to celebrate this occasion with our 3 children by our sides to witness this meaningful event. And although we’re already married “civilly,” I still feel the nervous butterflies in my belly that I did on our original wedding day. To officially have God’s blessing for our marriage is something we’ve always wanted, so we are so very thankful that this day has finally come.
What is one milestone in your life that you’ve always looked forward to?
